Q. What does this service cost? A. Absolutely nothing! IglooReview doesn't charge a thing to people celebrating their homes. We make a little money with the ads you see around the site. Updated: Dec 20, 2007 10:56:37 PM | Top |
Q. How does the Ratings system work?A. Our Igloo Ratings System is designed to allow all participant viewers (registered or unregistered) to contribute to a property’s average ratings score. However, only you as a registered user can post photos and videos to be rated. Once you’ve signed up and published your home portfolio images, then people get to rank them on a scale from 1 to 10 – with 10 constituting the highest possible rating. While you are not permitted to rate your own images, we will automatically assign one rating of 10 to any image you choose to upload into your portfolio (you would've given yourself a 10 anyway, right?!) That way we make sure everyone starts on a level playing field. Updated: Dec 21, 2007 04:35:40 PM | Top |
Q. Can I register more than one profile/portfolio under the same username?A. You can create multiple portfolios for each account, i.e., you can create a portfolio for several kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. for each account. But each account is associated with one location (city and state). If you want to share media for another home, say a vacation home, we suggest that you create a second account. Q. If I choose to, can I keep my portfolio out of public view? A. We designed IglooReview so that you can share your wonderful home projects. If privacy is something that our users require, we'll gladly add in a future release. Updated: Dec 20, 2007 11:15:42 PM | Top |
Q. What can I do on the site as an unregistered user?A. You can search for, view, and rate any image or portfolio on the Igloo website. You are limited to only one rating per image. You must register in order to post comments, add your own media, email to friends, or send private messages. Updated: Dec 21, 2007 04:36:00 PM | Top |
Q. Aside from setting up my own home profile/portfolio, what other benefits are there of registering/signing up?A. You get honest, unvarnished feedback on your home improvement projects, possibly even before you are too far down the path. Plus, contests with fabulous prizes! We'll be holding competitions on a variety of home topics, such as "most improved kitchen" and "best use of a small space." Updated: Dec 20, 2007 11:16:22 PM | Top |
Q. Particularly for purposes of the contests, does the website verify the authenticity of home ownership? A. Absolutely. The contests are open only to the people who are directly involved in the improvement of their living quarters. Submitting a couple of pictures from Architectural Digest is strictly forbidden! Q. I am a renter. Can I upload photos/videos of my home even though I don’t own it? A. Sure, just make sure you get permission from your landlord before submitting. Updated: Dec 20, 2007 11:16:55 PM | Top |
