I wanted to incorporate those elements into my garden so I could enjoy them all the time. Being the kind of person I am, I studied field guides & plant associations and took photos while hiking in order to learn what "worked" together. For me, my ideal match were the subalpine meadows found on Green Mountain within the Glacier Peak Wilderness Area.

The only hard rule was that all plants had to be true "natives" of the Pacific Northwest and not variagated varieties of an original species. Things started slow as I had no "plan" and I planted some trees in random locations. As I continued, an overall design started to come into focus and things largely fell into place on their own. I added photos to this gallery so that they are in a chronological order.
